"Putting Some Sacred Cows out to Pasture"

Jeff Jacobson - Guest Editor - Send articles, poems and songs to Jeff by Mar. 25, 2008 at: soigonow@gmail.com
We've all grown up with different experiences and influences that have shaped our outlook on religion, church and even God Himself. Some of these have evolved into practices or behaviors which are deeply embedded and very much a part of our lives today. Hopefully, most of these routines are meaningful and serve to draw us into a closer relationship with God, but .. what about the ones that don't? What if some of the sacred cows of our faith that we've vigorously protected and practiced over the years have amounted to nothing more than just some bad beef?
I'd love for you to share some of your experiences and hopefully in the process we can all learn a little something about how God intended for us to live and be in true community with Him.
Please send your essays (800-1000 words) or poetry, or even song lyrics that support this theme.
